Christmas Campaign for MST Group: Print and Digital Design for a Global Leader in Earth Moving Parts, Based in Durham
Introduction
Rachael of the MST Group reached out to me asking for various print and digital design material with a distinctive design for a new campaign they were launching for the Christmas holidays. The aim was to create eye-catching and functional designs that could be used across multiple platforms and markets. This campaign needed to align with MST Group’s established brand guidelines while also having a unique festive twist to capture the attention of their international clientele during the holiday season.
The Brief
The initial brief was to come up with a new design theme that aligned with the MST Group's current brand guidelines, but also offered a distinctive campaign for the Christmas period. Once the theme was decided, I was tasked with carrying this design across various print and digital marketing materials. These included a wall planner, an email newsletter template, and promotional giveaways. Each element had to be designed with both practicality and the campaign direction in mind, all while ensuring the designs remained consistent with MST Group’s professional image.
The Process
To start with, I pitched various design theme directions that could align with MST Group's brand guidelines, ensuring we stayed within their established aesthetic while introducing a fresh look. After discussing the options, we agreed on a mix of photography, illustrated tyre tracks, and a “dirty surface” style to reflect both the ruggedness of the earthmoving industry and the festive spirit. Once the style was finalised, I applied this new approach to the design of the email newsletter, wall planner, and promotional materials, making sure each piece maintained a balance of functionality. This cohesive design direction ensured the campaign stood out while staying true to the MST Group’s professional image.
