A new brand identity for a digital conference, to discuss the best practices and strategies to encourage reading
Introduction
I have recently been working for Reading Solutions UK on an exciting new event called the International Reading Conference 2022. This included networking with leaders in education, literacy experts and edtech specialists on a live webinar over three days, to discuss the best ways to encourage and develop a reading culture.
The Brief
The brief set was to design a brand identity and design a theme for an event that encapsulated social-emotional learning and fluency, which had an engaging and impactful presence. The aim of the conference was to host an international thought leadership exchange, convening educators focused on literacy development. The webinar was aimed at teachers, senior leaders and multi-academy trust leaders both nationally and internationally.
The Process
To start, I was given a written brief by Reading Solutions, with the key points that I highlighted being reading development and closing the reading gap. For the design theme, I came up with a modern geometric style, with a vibrant colour scheme that would particularly stand out on digital media. Each geometric symbol had its own individual meaning, for example, the two arrows pointing towards each other signified closing the reading gap. After the theme was decided on, I designed a logo which complimented the design theme and then created the rest of the brand assets including social media branding, an agenda and a digital programme.
