Brand Identity for a Global Scientific Research Network
Brand Identity for a Global Scientific Research Network
C-SCOPE (Centre for Scientific Community Opinion Polling and Evaluation) is a global network launched by Durham University to connect scientists and academics from around the world. Through community polling and discussion, the platform provides a space for researchers to share their opinions, exchange perspectives, and engage in meaningful dialogue on a broad range of scientific topics.
The objective was to create a distinctive brand identity and logo that could represent the breadth of scientific disciplines while reflecting C-SCOPE's role as a collaborative platform for discussion and opinion sharing. As the network facilitates conversations across a diverse range of scientific topics, the identity needed to feel inclusive, credible, and globally relevant.
To begin, I researched a range of potential directions for the brand identity, presenting several initial concepts to gather feedback and establish a clear creative direction. The chosen logo design cleverly incorporates a subtle "C" shape while also resembling a globe, with a central focal point representing the coming together of scientific communities from around the world.
This visual approach reflects C-SCOPE's purpose as a global platform for scientists and academics to share ideas, contribute opinions, and engage in meaningful discussion on a wide variety of scientific topics. The central point symbolises a collective hub of knowledge and collaboration, while the surrounding form reinforces the organisation's international reach and connected network of researchers.
